Précis of report from Major Magnussen from ELG.A. SUMMARY
1. Organisation in 14.1, 14.2 and 14.3
5000 well organised men.
2. Weapons at base ELG 2500.
3. Training. 1200 men in 14.3.2. Practically all Milorg men.
4. Leaders. Junior leaders are big problem but courses are being run
5. Supplies, Each group (small company) have stores for 2-4 weeks.
Held five platoon commander courses of 3-4 weeks for 140 men.
2 signal instructor courses of 3-4 weeks for 25 men.
B. 1. Military value of districts.
a) Same situation throughout all three districts. Total
number of men 5000, well organised and trained,
b) Well off for arms particularly D.14.3.
c) Training good. Practical weapon training in Bren, Sten
rifle, pistol and Mills handgrenade).
Formation training is just starting.
d) Leaders. Elg is training cardres of junior leaders.
140 men trained as platoon commanders in 3-4 week courses.
