**Flying Officer Hogg R C A F arrived over 'Flank 9', an isolated spot near Flatdalsvegen without trouble. With the DZ clear, the signal ' W was quickly picked up and wasting no time, the cargo was dropped from 500 feet onto a number of well-placed and easily identified lights. Within eight minutes of their arrival, they were on their way home. The only incident was when a container dropped when the bomb doors were opened, but the parachute failed to open.
The squadron notched up another loss on this operation.
There is scant information on the fate of F /O Edward Hull and crew, the Squadron O R B records; Norway, 'Missing, No News'. The crew were never found, three wives become widows and six families would mourn the loss of a son or brother. The Stirling seen engaged by flak by F / L t Harris R N Z A F could be the crew of F /O Hull. Their planned route passed just a few miles north of the location where a Stirling was seen in trouble over the Skagerrak Straits.
